Cutover to increase efficiency of network operations

The scope of work for the fiber optic upgrade project involves a two-phase approach: disconnecting existing fiber connections and installing new infrastructure. On the first day of the upgrade, Camali Corp prepared the fiber trunk cables with a numbering scheme to ensure proper re-connection. Corning 12-strand OM4 MPO fiber connectors were disconnected from existing Corning Pretium enclosure modules, and each MPO connector labeled to ensure it is reconnected in the same order. A detailed matrix was created to document each disconnect, recording the trunk module port to switch port connections.

In the installation phase, Camali Corp installed new 4U Corning Pretium enclosures to support OM4 multimode MPO to LC modules. The team connected the existing trunk MPO connectors to the new Corning modules in the same order as they were prior to disconnection. Additionally, 192 OM4 multimode fiber patch cords were installed, following the detailed matrix to ensure the connections were made to the corresponding switch ports in the same order as they were previously. All fiber was tested with a fluke meter and the certified results were provided to the client.
